BRIDGEWATER, NJ–SJP Properties has signed a lease for 64,000 square feet with the technology firm Cognizant at its Somerset Corporate Center II in Bridgewater. The building is one of five at the 15-acre acre corporate campus on the I-78/I-287 corridor.

Cognizant, which is based in Teaneck, NJ, is relocating from another property in Bridgewater, and plans to be in its new space by fall, according to SJP. The pharmaceutical maker Allergan also recently signed a lease for 93,000 square feet at the building and plans to move in by fall.

Steven J. Pozycki, CEO of SJP Properties, says the recent moves are “indicative of the flight-to-quality trend” in office real estate, whereby companies are seizing on opportunities to obtain newer, well-located space at post-recessionary prices. “In relocating to Somerset Corporate Center II, Cognizant will be upgrading its image and gains access to extraordinary on-site and area amenities that we feel will improve the quality of work life afforded to its employees,” Pozycki says.

SJP was represented in house, while Studley Senior Managing Directors Gregg Najarian and Joe Messina represented Cognizant.

Somerset Corporate Center offers direct access to Interstate 78 and Interstate 287, Routes 202/206, and close proximity to Newark International Airport. The building was awarded Energy Star recognition by the US Environmental Protection Agency and is on track to be given LEED operating status by the US Green Building Council.
