SAN DIEGO-BioMed Realty Trust Inc. has bought two land parcels in Sorrento Mesa for about $47 million. The San Diego-based REIT has leased the land parcels to Connecticut-based Advanced BioHealing Inc., an affiliate of UK-based Shire PLC.
Advanced BioHealing has plans to construct a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing and office campus on the 28 acres of land. The biopharmaceutical firm will start construction of laboratory, warehouse, manufacturing and office facilities on the Sorrento Mesa land by early next year.
