COLUMBUS, OH-Co-developers Steiner + Associates and the Georgetown Co. have announced that they are spending more than $44 million to expand and renovate Easton Town Center here. The companies will add about 50,000 square feet to the 1.7-million-square-foot mall, as well as renovating about 150,000 square feet and adding a parking deck.

The mall is adding Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Tommy Bahama, Ann Taylor and Sephora, as well as Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Texas de Brazil. The lifestyle property will then include more than 30 restaurants and 125 retailers.

Easton will see about $20 million in renovations this year, including updates to Brio Tuscan Grille, AMC Easton, Express and Victoria Secret. The property is also adding a $24 million parking deck, with more than 1,000 spaces, by early 2013.

Yaromir Steiner, CEO of the self-named firm, tells GlobeSt.com that the popular mall, which draws more than 22 million visitors per year, has the “aspirational’ quality that draws crowds. “These days, you see retailers consolidating, dropping the number of stores in a market,” he says. “So, where a market might have had three or four of a retailer’s stores, they’re dropping down to one store. People today want an experience when they go discretionary shopping, and that’s us, and retailers want to be in our mall.”
