Boomers

I feel compelled to dedicate this column to business travelers who suffer the trials and tribulations associated with summer thunderstorms. I am writing this column from a car in Denver, at 2:00am, after suffering an excruciating eight-hour delay at New York's JFK Airport thanks to a steady stream of storms that plowed through the airfield all day. I would have typically gone with the flow, but this was an encore to a trip just two days ago when I was stuck in Indianapolis overnight due to those frisky squalls! Unfortunately, I was in Indy for a day trip when a long line of foul weather erupted west of New York and shut down any chance of returning to the East Coast; of course, I was traveling without any of the "necessities of life" to begin a new day. The days of bearable business travel are over, thanks to the combination of the TSA, inadequate leg room, overbooked flights, nonexistent customer service, and in the summer, the boomers.
