(Save the date: RealShare New Jersey comes to the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick, NJ, September 19.)
WOODBRIDGE, NJ-Cushman & Wakefield has arranged an 87,000-square-foot lease at the newly-built MetroTop Plaza II in Woodbridge for EisnerAmper, the accounting, tax and advisory firm. The Edison-based C & W team of Paul Giannone, Kevin Carton and Eric Sobel represented the landlord, Atlantic Realty & Development Corp.
EisnerAmper plans to consolidate employees from multiple New Jersey offices at MetroTop Plaza II, a 255,000-square-foot class A office building. It will take all of the 10-story building’s sixth and seventh floors, and parts of the first and eighth floors for a term of more than 15 years. The firm was represented in the transaction by David Simson and Mark Weiss of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s New Jersey and New York offices, respectively.
With this transaction, the C&W team has signed leases totaling 177,000 square feet since MetroTop Plaza II was completed late last year. Ansell Healthcare leased 57,000 square feet, and software provider Vitech Systems Group took 19,000 square feet and McDonald’s Corp. leased 20,000 square feet for a regional headquarters.
“The region’s office market has improved significantly, but a combination of economic reasons continues to drive activity,” Giannone tells GlobeSt.com. “Many companies are either consolidating or relocating for cost-related reasons, including a more central location at a transportation hub for the benefit of employees.”
MetroTop Plaza II and the 90,000-square-foot Plaza I are situated just off the Garden State Parkway and within walking distance of the MetroPark Train Station. The Woodbridge Hilton Hotel is adjacent to the two buildings. Plaza II amenities include a two-story, glass-enclosed atrium, fiber optics, card key access, a multi-level parking deck, a gymnasium, and an 8,500-square-foot cafeteria. The 10th floor has a 10,000-square-foot activity center.
“This is one of the most outstanding, efficient and well-located buildings in New Jersey, a fact that has clearly been demonstrated by the recent leasing activity,” Giannone says. “A 70,000-square-foot block of space remains to be filled, and we will have an announcement very shortly that will complete the building’s lease-up.”
