LONDON-LandProp Holding, a real estate arm of IKEA, has started a 2 million-square-foot neighborhood on the south side of the Olympic Park in Stratford. The development project was unanimously approved by the planning committee of London Thames Gateway Development Corporation and the London Borough of Newham's Strategic Development Committee.

The 26-acre Strand East project will include 1,200 new homes, a 350-room Marriot hotel, about 620,000 square feet of office space, restaurants, local shops and cafes. For the full story, go to Commercial Property Executive .
