MILWAUKEE-Ryan Cos. US Inc. plans to open an office here as the firm’s official Wisconsin location. The company has done projects in the area for 15 years, from its Chicago-area office, but this will be the first location in the state for the development company.
The company currently has offices in six states, including Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Arizona, California and Florida. Ryan also hired Ryan Marks to lead the office as managing director. He was most recently vice president of finance and investments with Irgens Development Partners, also based here.
The company has two projects under construction in the area – the 145,000-square-foot Froedtert Health Medical Group – Menomonee Falls Clinic, and the 175,000-square-foot Underwood Crossing, a retail property anchored by Target in Brookfield, WI.
Jim McDonald, a VP at Ryan, tells GlobeSt.com that while the Milwaukee market tends to be steady and conservative, and there’s some competition between the Chicago and Southeast Wisconsin market, he’s seen demand starting to build here. “I think we’re now in the position to respond to the demand,” McDonald says. “I think we’re also starting to see more regional collaboration, with the economic groups in both states, and even northern Indiana, working together to bring business to the area.”
