SAN DIEGO-Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has promoted Bill Rose to vice president, according to John J. Kerin, president and chief executive officer. Rose currently serves as the national director of the firm’s national retail group and co-national director of its net leased properties group, positions he will continue to hold.

“Bill has been instrumental in helping our retail agents develop new client relationships, in improving our service delivery to major retail investors and in expanding the firm’s retail and net-lease business,” says Kerin. “Bill has increased the firm’s visibility in the retail industry because of his strong affiliations with industry associations and he elevates our direct involvement with ICSC on a national level.”

Rose is currently the Western Division Operations chairman for the International Council of Shopping Centers, as GlobeSt.com recently reported, and also is a past California state director.

Rose joined Marcus & Millichap’s San Diego office in September 2003 as a retail investment specialist. He was promoted to senior associate in September 2006. He rejoined the firm in November 2009 as sales manager of the San Diego office and in November 2010 was named western regional director of the NRG.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Rose was a managing director in the San Diego office of HFF, where he was primarily responsible for originating debt, equity and investment sales transactions throughout the western US. Rose was also the director of leasing for TrizecHahn Development/The Hahn Co., where he leased and managed several prominent shopping center developments and redevelopment projects.
