SAN ANTONIO-Construction has launched on the 323-unit Residences of La Cantera. The high-end luxury multifamily property and accompanying 4,000-square-foot retail component represent phase one of the mixed-use, 178-acre Town Center at La Cantera, which is being developed by USAA Real Estate Co.

Cambridge Development of Houston is handling development for Residences of La Cantera, which will be situated on five acres at 6215 Via La Cantera. The first phase will also include a three-acre park, complete with an urban plaza and lawn, adventure playground, a wet pond and picnic area.

The Residences at La Cantera offers studio to three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 553 square feet to 1,785 square feet. The project's general contractor is CF Jordan Construction of Dallas; the engineer is Pape-Dawson Engineers of San Antonio, with Ricks Kiss Architecture of Memphis the architect of record and Austin-based J. Robert Anderson the landscape architect. Riverstone Residential Group of San Antonio will manage the property upon completion.

Town Center at La Cantera, near the Shops at La Cantera, will include future phases of hotel, office, amenity retail and additional multifamily property developments. The Town Center at La Cantera will be intertwined with a network of San Antonio-area trails linking urban parks and preserved natural greenways, providing a system that will connect to the City’s planned Leon Creek Hike & Bike Trail.
