CHICAGO-Horizon Realty Group, a North Side apartment investor, has bought a senior apartment complex in downtown Evanston. A Horizon venture bought the 185-unit North Shore Retirement Hotel for $10.5 million. The senior housing property is the last of six residential buildings sold by Chicago-based Irmco Properties & Management Corp.
The property, located at 1611 Chicago Ave., will operate as a retirement community. Horizon is planning to spend nearly $4 million to improve the common areas and apartments. For the full story, go to Crain's Chicago Business .
