(RealShare New Jersey comes to the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick, NJ, September 19.)

PARAMUS, NJ-NAI James E. Hanson's retail team has landed the largest new retailer on the Route 17 corridor in years: A PGA Tour Superstore leased 57,000 square feet on Route 17 South in Paramus at the former Einstein Moomjy rug store.

The chain will open New Jersey's flagship Golf and Tennis Pro Shop - the 15th national location – later this fall. The Superstore is the PGA Tour's exclusive retail partner. The company's controlling owner and chairman is Arthur Blank, retired co- founder of Home Depot and current owner of the Atlanta Falcons.

The Einstein Moomjy showroom in Paramus had been empty since the company filed for bankruptcy last year in the wake of the recession.

NAI Hanson’s team of Michael G. Walters, the executive managing director of corporate services, Ronald A. Fotiu and Sales Jill Gordon represented the property's owner, the Emil Buehler Trust Fund in the lease transaction. Hanson is also managing the property.

Fotiu said the site’s location on Route 17 in retail-happy Paramus is what sold the Superstore on the site. The location is between two major interchanges to the Garden State Parkway, Midland Avenue and Century Road, allowing convenient U-turn access to the highway.

"Paramus has the most retail sales of any zip code in the Unites States,” added Fotiu. “Route 17 is an extremely busy retail corridor and a favorite shopping destination for New York and New Jersey residents.”

Ordinarily, PGA stores open in the spring with the start of golf season, he noted. “But since this location will benefit from an inordinately high amount of traffic flow, the company has decided to open before the holiday season," he said.

There are more than 300 golf clubs and courses in New Jersey, including Baltusrol in Springfield, which has hosted more than a dozen national championships; Liberty National beside the Hudson River in Jersey City; and Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood, which is hosting the 2nd Annual Senior Masters Charity Pro Am Tour this month.
