TOKYO-Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers has opened its first office in Tokyo. The move is part of the company’s larger expansion strategy, as it has recently been increasing its presence in Europe via an established equity operation and a real estate lending program in the UK, launched this year.
The new Tokyo office will be lead by directors Kelly C. Hayes and Peter Gensheimer, who are described in a company release as having extensive experience in the region, most recently with Savills.
Of the move, Cornerstone’s CEO, David J. Reilly, said in the same release: “Our presence in Tokyo will not only help augment services for our existing Asian clients but also enable us to provide them enhanced access to U.S. and European equity and debt investment opportunities.”
The new Tokyo office will enable the company to better provide services to its Asian clients. It also aims to expand its network of institutional investors as part of its larger strategy.
