SACRAMENTO-Construction will start on 60 one-bedroom senior housing units in Auburn on Thursday. Mercy Housing will start construction on Mercy Auburn Senior Community on nearly three acres of land in the campus of Sisters of Mercy West Midwest Auburn.

The almost $17-million project will include a community kitchen, conference room and library, computer lab, a bocce-ball court, a large terrace and various outdoor gathering spaces.
