OAKLAND, CA-Affordable Housing Associates is planning to open its new senior housing community in Oakland to residents. The Merritt Crossing building, located at 609 Oak St., comprises 70 units. The $28.4-million project will serve people aged 55 years and above and with low income.

Amenities include a computer lab, kitchen, community room, community garden and landscaped courtyard. Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects designed the project and Nibbi Brothers General Contractors built it. For the full story, go to San Francisco Business Times .
