SAN DIEGO-Though diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, the DiamondView tower might be more to the preference of baseball fans. The strategically-located class A office was just bought by Cruzan|Monroe and Cigna Investments Inc. CBRE ‘s Mark McGovern, Scott Peterson and Jeff Rice in the Debt & Equity Finance group here arranged both the equity and the acquisition financing of approximately $86 million for the edifice.

And the building’s optimal location provides views over Petco Park – even better for those with access to its penthouse skybox on the entire 15th floor and Fit Athletic Club with an outdoor pool and deck overlooking Petco Park. At the time of the transaction, the building was 95% leased.

“It’s a successful building,” explained Mark McGovern senior vice president who assisted the buyers,. “It’s located in the resurgent East Village area…the development has a tremendous amount of multifamily [there]. It’s state of the art, edgy, and techy…it’s most recent office building in downtown San Diego.”

Louay Alsadek, executive vice president also weighed in: “we had a lot of buyers interest in the project” and he cited the building’s proximity to many amenities as a reason for its appeal.
