BETHESDA, MD-Peter Carroccio, a veteran CBRE real estate broker, will be assuming the helm at the firm's local office to lead its operations in suburban Maryland. Before joining CBRE in 2007, Carroccio served as regional managing director of the Washington, DC region for GVA Advantis. He was also senior vice president at Transwestern Commercial Services. He will have the title of managing director of the Maryland office when he takes over on Jan. 2, 2013.
He is joining with the overarching goal of growing the business, he tells GlobeSt.com. "My main goal is for CBRE to remain strong and further grow business in suburban Maryland—which includes more than just Chevy Chase and Bethesda." The company hopes to expand its presence throughout the region, focusing on such submarkets as Silver Spring, PG County, Rockville and Annapolis.
He also plans to make hires in a handful of functional areas: agency and tenant representation, and property and project management. "We are looking to increase our numbers in those three disciplines," Carroccio says. Another goal is to further the vertical integration of CBRE's services for its clients. Such areas include property management, project management, agency and tenant representation, capital markets, multifamily and finance. "The goal is to create new business opportunities in these areas," he says.
