ORLANDO-A New York-based development firm has started work earlier this month on a 246-unit apartment complex in downtown Orlando. On November 27, Hawthorne, New York-based GDC Properties LLC organized a groundbreaking ceremony for its six-story multifamily project that is estimated to cost $35.9 million.
The eco-friendly NORA apartments will come up on North Orange Avenue. The project will also include a 15,000-square-foot interior courtyard, 10,000 square feet of retail and a 400-space parking garage. Construction is scheduled to be finished in spring 2014.
