Jeffrey L. Heller, an Avison Young principal based at the firm’s Morristown office opened last month, said Dolly has been named vice-president of research and will also be based here.
“Matt’s expertise will play an integral role in expanding our service capabilities for existing clients, while more strongly positioning our team to win new business and continue our strategic growth in New Jersey,” said Heller, who was named to his post when AY opened its office here last month.
Dolly’s duties will include tracking inventory, compiling historical data and market forecasting for both the office and industrial markets in New Jersey. As the senior managing director in Colliers’ consulting group, his responsibilities were essentially the same. Dolly will also work closely with James Delmonte of AY’s New York City office to expand the company’s research capabilities.
“I was attracted to the entrepreneurial spirit and team-oriented service model that Avison Young embraces, and saw this as an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing firm on the ground level and contribute to its success,” says Dolly about his move. He adds that he also finds AY’s “collegial and family-like atmosphere” very appealing as a work environment.
Avison Young also hired Bridget Nash, who has worked alongside Dolly for the past seven years as a graphic designer. She will support marketing and research efforts through creation of materials and presentations, as well as designing quarterly research reports.
Canada-based AY opened its first office in the Northeast last April when it installed Arthur J. Mirante, II as principal and Tri-State president, based in Manhattan. Shortly thereafter, it acquired The Walsh Co., a leading project management firm that had long been based in Morristown.
While at Colliers, Dolly helped stabilize a statewide office that underwent significant transitions in the last several years, from GVA Williams to First Service Williams Real Estate, and then to Colliers International.
Before joining Colliers, Dolly directed research for the Sitar Co./ONCOR International, and also previously held positions with CoStar Group and Petrie Retail.
