TAMPA, FL-A joint venture comprising an affiliate of Driftwood Hospitality Management LLC has acquired a 521-room hotel in downtown Tampa for an undisclosed price. The former Hyatt Regency Tampa hotel will immediately become a Hilton affiliated hotel called the Hotel Tampa. The new ownership plans a major renovation on the hotel in 2013 and will rename it to the Hilton Hotel Downtown Tampa after it achieves certain milestones in renovation.
