NEW YORK CITY-AECOM, parent company of Tishman Construction Group, announced in a press release Friday that it signed a new lease of 90,000 square feet at Mack-Cali Realty Corp.'s 125 Broad St., in Downtown Manhattan, in a transaction conducted by CBRE Group Inc. The brokers on the deal were Adam Foster and Frederick Fackelmayer.

AECOM will move employees from 71 W. 23rd Street, 31 W. 27th St. and 20 Exchange Place into 125 Broad St. during the fourth quarter of 2013. The company will occupy a portion of the 14th floor, as well as the entire 15th and 16th floors at 125 Broad.

AECOM will retain its Midtown Manhattan offices at 605 Third Ave. and 100 Park Ave. Some business lines moving into 125 Broad Street will retain offices in the 605 Third Ave. location.

In the release, AECOM's EVP for the US Northeast region, Ira Levy, says the company undertook extensive due diligence before selecting its new office location. “AECOM undertook nearly a year-long process to develop a strategic plan for the Tri-State area, eventually selecting 125 Broad as an ideal location to unify our various businesses and provide easy access for clients,” he says. “The process included leadership interviews, focus groups, and evaluations of commute patterns, labor availability and client proximity.

AECOM ultimately chose its new downtown site both for functional and aesthetic reasons, Levy notes in the release. The building offered the right environment for employees to work efficiently, not to mention it offers picturesque views, he says.

“Along with large, efficient floor plans and beautiful harbor views, the new layout of offices at 125 Broad Street will be helpful in furthering our objectives to bring our staff together and improve how we collaborate,” Levy says. “AECOM was focused on creating a unified environment that represents our brand and values, and the new office layout will support AECOM's project-based work and provide a variety of space types, reflecting how the company works on behalf of our clients.”
