DALLAS--After weighing other options, Dallas-based ClubCorp USA Inc. will renew the lease for its corporate headquarters at Triwest Plaza.

The worldwide private club owner had been considering making a change because of construction traffic associated with work on LBJ Freeway, says the Dallas Business Journal. ClubCorp's corporate offices have been at the building since 1989.

"It's (construction) has clearly been a nuisance on everyone that has experienced it," said CEO Eric Affeldt. "But there's a new owner of the building who made it worth our while for us to stay."

Terms of the lease were undisclosed.

North Texas landlords, property owners and cities have been trying to recruit ClubCorp for the past two years during its real estate search. But it came down to a great deal in a location that's still central in North Texas for the company's 300 employees, Affeldt said.

In the long-term lease, ClubCorp has downsized from four floors, or roughly 80,000 square feet to three floors, or 66,192 square feet. The company has been subleasing one of its floors for the past few years.
