PORTLAND, OR—Robert Duncan Plaza is getting a new name as its current owners work to woo non-government tenants for the first time.

Sam Fuchs, COO of Chicago-based Kaufman Jacobs, said the decision to shed the Robert Duncan name will help telegraph that the 10-story building constructed in 1991 is welcoming private tenants, according to the Portland Business Journal.

Melvin Mark Cos. built the 360,000-square-foot office building, more than two decades ago. It has exclusively housed federal agencies ever since and has gained a reputation as a no-fly zone for private citizens. Kaufman Jacobs acquired control of the property as part of a bankruptcy reorganization of its former owner, Rubicon REIT.
