HILLSBORO, OR—The Venetian Theatre & Bistro, a landmark redevelopment in Porland's Hillsboro neighborhood is for sale.

Denzil Scheller, a lifelong Hillsboro resident and developer of the rehabbed theater, told the Oregonian that he plans to list the property within the next few weeks.

"It's been for sale since the day we opened," Scheller said to the paper. The renovated theater opened in July 2008.

Now 64, Scheller spearheaded the development project in the former Town Theater building on East Main Street in downtown Hillsboro. The city bought the building in 1996 for $1,500, and the theater sat vacant and unused for more than a decade prior to selling the building to Scheller for $10. Hillsboro kicked in $750,000 to help develop the property.
