CHICAGO - The non-profit Make-A-Wish Illinois organization is renewing and expanding its lease at 640 N. LaSalle St.

The group, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, plans to increase its footprint by about 80% to 10,787 square feet. The new lease begins in March. Melissa Rubenstein and Brian Atkinson of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the building's owner, MAC Management Co. Inc. The seven-story building covers one full city block between LaSalle, Ontario, Wells and Erie streets. The overall occupancy rate in the building is now more than 90%. A 6,000 SF and a 17,000 SF space are currently available for lease. Connor Kerr and Lisa Konieczka of CBRE represented the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the transaction. Make-A-Wish Illinois has been a tenant in the building since the local chapter's founding in 1988, when it leased approximately 995 SF of space. Since then, the group has expanded its footprint five times, the last time inm 2003.
