SKOKIE, IL - Command Transportation Services has leased 19,000 square feet of office space at 5500 West Howard St., a two-story, 60,000 SF building just off the I-94 Expressway. The new location will function as Command's TI83 PLUS Special Operation's Group headquarters.

The transaction was announced by Michael J. Alter, President of The Alter Group, which owns the Class A office building. The Alter Group's Vice President Bryan Farquhar and Senior Vice President Matthew Ward represented the owner. The transaction brings 5500 West Howard to 100% occupancy. Command Transportation is a freight broker, the middleman between businesses that need products shipped and transportation companies who move the products. They are active across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. "The location of 5500 W Howard is the ideal spot for any office building with suburban and urban commuters,” Command's owner Paul Loeb says. “Just off the highway, it has quick accessibility to and from any Chicagoland neighborhood, yet has the convenience to local streets and nearby restaurant and other amenities." Designed by architect Helmut Jahn, formerly of the Chicago-based architectural firm of C.F. Murphy Associates Inc., the building is on a nine-acre site and features a solid black glass curtain-wall exterior, with 30,000 SF floor sizes and 10 feet ceilings. The Alter Group, founded in 1955, is a national corporate real estate development firm with five vertically integrated affiliate companies.
