MIAMI—Developers just broke ground on a new Walgreens store in Miami Beach. Gadinsky Real Estate and Echion USA are building the store on the northwest corner of 14th Street and Collins Avenue in the heart of Miami Beach's historic Art Deco District.

Scheduled to open this summer, the new 10,000-square-foot store becomes the third new Walgreens to open in Miami Beach in recent months. The other two stores, also developed by Gadinsky and Echion, are located at 2000 Normandy Drive and 1011 Alton Road. The three stores span 33,000 square feet in total.

"Walgreens has always fared well in beachfront communities and Miami Beach is an exceptional example of that,” Seth Gadinsky, owner of Gadinsky, tells GlobeSt.com. “Walgreens stores at 5th Street and Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue perform remarkably well but there was still a segment of South Beach that they were not servicing.”
