IRVINE, CA-GlobeSt.com has learned exclusively that Michelle Schierberl and Don Ellis have joined Colliers International's local office as SVPs for the firm's retail investment division. The veteran brokers will focus primarily on neighborhood and community retail centers.

Previously with Jones Lang LaSalle, Schierberl and Ellis have represented retail centers throughout Southern California. Among their most recent assignments are a Best Buy/Staples Center in Duarte, a mixed-use redevelopment project in Venice and a furniture-oriented center in San Diego. They have also recently sold a 35-acre parcel of land in Wildomar, CA, zoned for mixed use and are active in seeking development sites.

“With the addition of this experienced and well-known team, we have taken another step in dramatically expanding our presence in the retail marketplace on a very large scale,” said Martin Pupil, Colliers International's regional managing director for Greater Los Angeles, in a prepared statement. “With their combined backgrounds, they will enhance how we represent retail property owners and lessees not just locally, but throughout Southern California and along the entire West Coast from Seattle to the Mexican border.”

As GlobeSt.com reported exclusively last week, Colliers International hired Nico M. Vilgiate as an EVP in its Downtown L.A. office. The move was made as part of the firm's strategic growth plans for this year and beyond.
