HONOLULU—Sears' Hawaii flagship store at Ala Moana Center will close June 2, a spokesman for Sears Holding Corp. said Tuesday.
Local media quoted unidentified store employees as saying managers were told of the date at a meeting on Monday and that liquidation sales for the store would start in March.
The Pacific Business Journal reported today that Sears spokesman Howard Riefs confirmed in an that the store would close June 2, and said liquidation sales would start March 15.
The June 2 closing date is earlier than previously reported. In November, Chris Brathwaite, a spokesman for Illinois-based Sears Holding Corp. (NYSE: SHLD) told PBN that the company expected to keep the Ala Moana Sears store open "in 2013."
