CAMPBELL, CA-The Sports Basement takes 40,000 square feet at the Pruneyard Shopping Center here, a 250,000 square foot retail center owned by Equity Office.
The Bay Area based retailer plans to open this, its fifth store, next month. Sports Basement has two stores in San Francisco, and one each in Sunnyvale and Walnut Creek.
Steve Cutter of Lockehouse Retail Group represented the tenant while Dixie Divine and Doug Ferrari of Prime Commercial represented the landlord in the 10-year lease.
The Pruneyard features over 17 eateries, in addition to retailers such as Marshalls, Trader Joe's, Rock Bottom Brewery and Camera 7 Cinema. The shopping center is located just off Highways 880 and 280 and is adjacent to downtown Campbell and the Los Gatos Creek Trail, a 10-mile long tree-lined bike and walking trail running from Lexington Reservoir to Meridian Avenue in San Jose.
Adjacent to the shopping center are three high-rise class A office buildings, totaling approximately 360,000 square feet, and the 172-room Pruneyard Plaza Hotel.
