LAS VEGAS—Concentrating on expanding its presence in the region, Sunrise Management – which has specialized in the management of residential real estate since 1978 – has opened a new Las Vegas division and tapped multifamily expert Kathy Relyea to take charge.

In her new role as regional property manager, she will oversee four employees, concentrating on increasing the San Diego-based firm's Las Vegas market share and directing long term marketing, strategic planning and day-to-day activities.

Relyea has over 27 years of experience in the multifamily industry, specializing in property management, marketing, training and investment and has worked in various executive level positions. She was most recently regional director of operations for Mutual Assets Real Estate.

Sunrise recently took over its first Las Vegas project, Boulder Palms Senior Apartments, and Relyea is charged with optimizing value and spearheading capital improvements for that property. Built in1997, the 183-unit, 84,084-square-foot residential community is situated on 4.02 acres and features a clubhouse, swimming pool and workout facility.

According to Joe Greenblatt, CEO and president of Sunrise Management, this is an opportune time to enter the Las Vegas market. “We are very excited to have Kathy join our team to help expand our Nevada operations,” said Greenblatt. “With apartment vacancies decreasing and rents on the rise, we believe the apartment market here is poised for a rebound, and that growth will gain momentum over the next few years.”
