EUGENE, OR—Nordstrom Rack plans to open its newest location in Oregon at the Oakway Center later this year.

The store will be located in a 32,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by a Borders book store, and the company hopes to have it open by fall, according to a report in the Porland Business Journal.

Nordstrom previously operated a Nordstrom Place Two store in Eugene for more than 15 years.

"For those who remember us, we are excited to serve our Eugene customers again with a Nordstrom Rack store," Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a statement, "and for those we haven't met — we look forward to introducing them to our new Rack at Oakway Center."

Oakway is an upscale mixed-use lifestyle center centrally located within three miles of the University of Oregon campus. The center is owned and operated by McKay Investment Co. LLC.
