IRVING, TX—The city has placed its Heritage Crossing property on the market for redevelopment.

The City Council wants to encourage private investors to submit design and development plans for the property that align with the city's vision for it, according to a report in the Dallas Business Journal.

The city would prefer high-quality residential developments that fit into the historic 640-acre neighborhood bound by West Pioneer Drive, Britain Road, Shady Grove Road and MacArthur Boulevard. The Journal quoted Kevin Kass, the city's redevelopment and tax increment financing administrator.

The 20.6-acre tract of land is located along Delaware Creek, north and south of Sixth Street.

Bids are subject to approval of the City Council and the city retains the right for final approval of the development plans.
