LOS ANGELES-For 17 days this month, homebuilders will be offering substantial savings and special opportunities on new homes in L.A. and Ventura counties. Through the Building Industry Association of South California' Los Angeles/Ventura Chapter's “Be Smart Buy New” promotion, prospective buyers looking for homes in more than 30 new communities will get a discount through March 17 as participating homebuilders pass along significant savings.
Communities involved in the promotion are located in Azusa, Fillmore, Gardena, Glendora, Hawthorne, Lancaster, Los Angeles, Moorpark, Pomona, San Dimas, Santa Clarita, Santa Paula, Signal Hill and Valencia. A complete listing of all participating new home communities can be found at BeSmartBuyNew.com.
“Homebuilding is back in Southern California, and this is the event we have all been waiting for,” said Holly Schroeder, CEO of the Los Angeles/Ventura County Chapter of the BIASC, in a prepared statement. “It's truly an unprecedented sales event. Combined with historically low interest rates and the steady increase in home prices, now is the time to buy a new home.”
Schroeder tells GlobeSt.com that each homebuilder is offering different incentives and promotions, depending on where in the development process each community is. However, she maintains, “it's always a good value to buy a new home because you're going to save on your utility bills and on not having repairs since each home comes with a warranty. There's a lot of value in a new home.”
Schroeder adds that the “Be Smart Buy New” campaign is also offering incentives in order to drive traffic to the models, such as having people post photos of the properties on social-media channels, which is a “big deal for a primarily brick-and-mortar business.” Anyone who registers on the campaign website at www.besmartbuynew.com is entered to win a $100 gift card.
Homebuilders involved in the promotion include Brookfield Homes, California Home Builders, DR Horton, KB Home, LA Urban Homes, Lennar, the New Home Co., Newhall Land, TRI Pointe Homes, Pardee Homes, Toll Bros., Watt Communities, William Lyon Homes and Williams Homes.
As GlobeSt.com reported in February, California no longer has the highest number of foreclosure properties. The Florida foreclosure rate ranked highest among the states for the fifth month in a row, edging out California's six-year lead, according to RealtyTrac, an online marketplace for foreclosure properties and real estate data. As GlobeSt.com reported previously, the firm's market report for January revealed that US foreclosure starts fell to a six-year low last month, and scheduled foreclosure auctions increased in 26 states.
