COLUMBUS, OH- Nationwide Realty Investors just announced that 1,000 of its employees have finished moving into a five-story, 200,000 SF mid-rise at 10 W. Nationwide, the newest building in the Arena District, a centerpiece of Columbus' reviving CBD and developed by Nationwide.
Like many Midwestern cities, Columbus has seen a lot of development and leasing activity in its CBD as corporations increasingly desert sprawling suburban campuses in favor of new spaces downtown, both in new developments and restored buildings.
And like Dan Gilbert, the CEO of Quicken Loans, who has received a lot to credit for helping revive downtown Detroit, especially for moving thousands of his employees into the CBD, Nationwide is both developing the 1.5 million SF Arena Center and populating it with their own employees.
"10 W. Nationwide is a linchpin building and a key piece in the Arena District's continued development,” said Brian J. Ellis, Nationwide Realty Investors' president and chief operating officer. “The new building adds to the overall energy and vibrancy of the area. Our Arena District restaurants and entertainment venues will benefit from the improved connectivity, and from the addition of a thousand new Nationwide employees in the District."
Other NRI projects under construction in the Arena District include a $10-million office building at 425 W. Nationwide Blvd. office, which the General Services Administration will anchor, and 240 W. Nationwide Blvd., a 280,000 SF building anchored by Columbia Gas.
