SAN RAMON, CA—The Bishop Ranch office complex has achieved LEED certification for 37 office buildings.
The owners of the complex were quoted Tuesday in the Contra Costa Times.
The 37 buildings total about 6 million square feet, and the developers claim that it is may be the largest office park LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification accomplished in the United States.
"When people come to work, they want to leave their cars at home," said Alex Mehran, CEO and President of Sunset Development, in speaking with The Times. "They want to breathe the purest indoor air possible."
Some large tenants at Bishop Ranch cited the development's LEED status as a benefit for their operations and employees.
