NEW YORK CITY-Flying out of John F. Kennedy International Airport is about to get easier—or, at least, become a more pleasant experience.

The Hudson Group, a travel retailer and the company behind Hudson News, has entered a joint venture with JME Group LLC to create a new concessions program, it announced on Friday.

Under the plan, the JV will add five clothing and accessories stores— Michael Kors, Coach, Thomas Pink, Solstice and Victoria's Secret—to JFK's terminal four, the space being renovated in order to become the home of Delta Air Lines at JFK. In addition, Hudson will add seven new Hudson travel essentials stores and a New York souvenir shop. The stores will open in three phases between May and October.

The travel essential stores will differ from Hudson News. Renamed Hudson, the retailers will sell electronics and media related items, local and regional merchandise from the New York area and their usual fare.

The news comes on the heels of an announcement last week that revealed plans for several new restaurantsto come into the terminal. Among these were Shake Shack, the popular hamburger and shake eatery, Blue Smoke, the barbeque eatery, and two restaurants from celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, one focused on American classics and a second inspired by street food.

Slated to expand from 1.5 million square feet to over two million square feet, terminal four is undergoing improvements in several stages. The first of these, slated for completion this May, is a $1.2 billion upgrade that will include nine new gates and seven renovated gates; improved and renovated check-in areas, a new, 24,000-square-foot flagship Delta sky club lounge with the first ever sky deck outdoor terrace, an in-line baggage system, a centralized security checkpoint and several of the new stores and restaurants, and more.

In addition, Delta is embarking on a separate, $180 million project that will add 11 gates and 75,000 square feet to terminal four's concourse B. That addition will create 27 gates.
