LONG BEACH, CA-The first building completed by Sares Regis Group, one of seven at master-planned business park Pacific Pointe at Douglas Park here, has been sold to Providence Industries, an apparel maker for the imprintable and private-label industries, for $12.7 million. The building is approximately 91,145 square feet. In addition, the United States Green Building Council has awarded Sares Regis Group's first four corporate headquarters buildings in park with LEED Gold and Silver certifications for their high levels of environmental sustainability. The development, which contains Southern California's largest collection of LEED buildings for sale or lease, is located next to Long Beach Airport.

SAN FRANCISCO-APR Investment Group is offering for sale an 86-unit multifamily property here at 270 Turk St. for an asking price of $9.5 million. The 10-story property, which covers roughly 47,054 square feet on an approximately 6,850-square-foot site, was built in 1927 and hasn't been on the market for 20 years. Made of reinforced concrete construction, it has withstood substantial structural and system upgrades and has separate electric and gas meters.

LEASES

LOS ANGELES-Sprinkles Cupcakes has added a second Los Angeles location, taking approximately 1,000 square feet in Brookfield's new Fig at 7th retail center. The new shop should be open later this year. Lee & Associates NYC, the New York office of Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the tenant in the transaction. The bakery recently launched Sprinkles Ice Cream and a cupcake ATM at the Beverly Hills flagship location. The ATM is a cupcake vending machine that dispenses individual cupcakes baked fresh every day. There are plans to expand all three concepts to numerous markets in US as well as abroad.

FINANCING

ASPEN, CO-Gary McGlynn, SVP and managing director of NorthMarq's Washington, DC, regional office, has arranged first mortgage and mezzanine financing totaling $19 million for the 99-room limited-service Sky Hotel. This asset is positioned in a truly unique ski-in and ski-out location in the heart of Aspen. NorthMarq arranged this financing for the borrower through its relationship with a CMBS and mezzanine lender.

EXECUTIVE APPOIONTMENTS

LOS ANGELES-Unispace has hired several new executives to direct the design, construction, business development and marketing efforts of the commercial architectural design and construction firm. Melani Atkinson is directing business development and client relations for the firm's Los Angeles and San Francisco markets. She has previously worked with HLW, Shlemmer Algaze Associates, and City Spaces, Inc. Cammie Parrish Rago is driving the design efforts as director of design for both the Los Angeles and San Francisco Unispace offices. Rago was most recently director of facilities and corporate real estate for Green Dot Corp. Greg O'Connor is as director of construction.; he was most recently with Clune Construction. Jarred Walker is directing the project delivery process as director of project management; he was formerly with Clune Construction and the Irvine Co. And Kristen Mays will be directing marketing efforts as creative director. She was previously with Shlemmer Algaze Associates.

IRVINE, CA-Lee & Associates has named Jeff Bischofberger of the Irvine office its newest shareholder. Bischofberger, who has nearly 10 years of industry experience, specializes in the leasing and sale of office/industrial buildings and land in and around the Inland Empire and Orange County, with an emphasis on the Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga/Inland Empire airport submarkets.

LOS ANGELES-Studley has promoted of four individuals in the firm's downtown Los Angeles and Orange County offices. Joshua Gorin, who has been with Studley since 1997, is now co-branch manager of the firm's downtown Los Angeles office. Gorin, a SVP, advises companies on national and international projects. Kyle R. Miller has been promoted to corporate managing director. Based in the firm's downtown Los Angeles office, Miller advises clients on the acquisition and disposition of retail properties including neighborhood, community, and power centers, as well as single-tenant investments.

Laura Whelan is now a managing director with Studley's Project Management group for the Los Angeles region. She consults with the firm's Downtown and West Los Angeles brokerage professionals, providing their clients with a full range of project management services, from site assessment and evaluation through construction and move-in. Also, Paul Jones has been named an assistant director. He has actively participated as an integral partner in Studley's Orange County Industrial Services practice.

SAN DIEGO-CBRE San Diego has rehired Chaneng Joe to join the Retail Private Capital Group team of Reg Kobzi, Joel Wilson, Carrie Bobb and Matt Shope. Joe is returning to the firm from Jones Lang LaSalle where she will specialize in the leasing, sales and advisory of retail properties throughout San Diego County.

RECOGNITIONS

SEATTLE-Kidder Mathews Sustainability Practices has provided Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) consulting to help a new office achieve LEED Gold certification. The office, located in the historic Pioneer District within Seattle, is home to a large technology company. The 130,000-square-foot office encompasses three floors of a newly built LEED-certified office building.

SAN JOSE-Brokers in Colliers International's San Jose office were recognized at this year's Association of Silicon Valley Brokers awards banquet. Ed Hofer was awarded Industrial Broker of the Year and John Machado was named Retail Broker of the Year for 2012. In addition, Andy Zighelboim was a finalist for Investment Broker of the Year; Bob Rowland, finalist for Land Broker of the Year; and Shane Minnis, finalist for Rookie of the Year.
