GILBERT, AZ—Arizona developers often have special circumstances to deal with, but a fiberglass horse on the roof of a redevelopment property might still be among the more unusual.

Local real estate developer Michael Pollock took the horse along with the strip mall when he paid $500,000 recently for the 13,000 square foot property at southeast intersection of Gilbert and Ray roads. According to the Phoenix Business Journal, he plans to put another $150,000 into improvements, including the cost of removing the horse. The renovation, which will include a new Holloywood Western facade theme, is expected to be completed by fall.
