NEWPORT BEACH, CA-Those who follow @GlobeStcom on Twitter and @GlobeStLIVE may have seen a post teasing the announcement, but GlobeSt.com has learned that PIMCO, a leading global investment firm based in Newport Beach, has hired Laurent Luccioni as EVP and head of commercial real estate portfolio management—Europe. In his new role, Luccioni will join PIMCO on April 22, and he will be based in the firm's London office, reporting to Dan Ivascyn, managing director and head of the firm's Mortgage Credit Portfolio Management team.
Luccioni was previously with MGPA, an independently managed private-equity real-estate investment advisory company focused on real estate investment in Europe and Asia-Pacific. He most recently served as CEO-Europe at the firm, with responsibility for its European business, leading a team of 88 people across five offices.
According to Ivascyn, “Laurent is an outstanding investor and leader, and he brings to PIMCO significant experience and knowledge of the commercial real estate investment space in Europe and around the world.”
As GlobeSt.com reported in January, a 479,800-square-foot project for PIMCO at Fashion Island here is one of two build-to-suits that are the most notable construction projects in the Orange County office market. The other is a 469,000-square-foot project for Hyundai in Fountain Valley.
