OAK BROOK, IL-Inland Real Estate Corp. signed 21,650 square-feet of leases for their Rivertree Court shopping mall in north suburban Vernon Hills. The REIT has added the retailers Pier 1 Imports and Shoe Carnival, which took 10,400-square-feet and 11,250-square-feet, respectively, with both stores set to open later in 2013.

“These new retailers are strong additions to Rivertree Court, bringing two additional national tenants to the center,” says Scott Carr, chief investment officer of Inland. “We believe these stores enhance the center's status as one of the premiere shopping destinations in the area.”

Inland has been very active in the immediate area. Last summer, they signed Hobby Lobby to a lease for 46,984-square-feet at the nearby Hawthorn Village Commons shopping center at 220 Townline Rd., also in Vernon Hills.

Rivertree Court, located at 701 Milwaukee Ave. sits within a high-traffic retail shopping hub in a growing area with expensive homes. Tenants include Gordman's, Office Depot, Old Navy, Michaels, T.J.Maxx, Ulta and Five Guys Burgers & Fries.
