ATLANTIC CITY-In a seventh straight year of revenue decline since casinos opened in neighboring Pennsylvania and New York, casino profit fell by 27% here last year, the Associated Press reports.
The city's dozen casinos collected a total of $360 million in profits.
Hurricane Sandy in October forced closure of the gambling facilities for a week late last fall. Still, eight of the 12 casinos wound up in the black.
Harrah's Resort Atlantic City was Number One, with $127 million in profits, up 13% from 2011. The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa took in $120 million, but that was 26% less than in 2011.
The Atlantic Club, which PokerStars is currently moving to acquire, lost $19 million last year.
Revel, which is in bankruptcy court, posted a $110 million operating loss from its opening in April of 2012 through the end of the year.
