INDIANAPOLIS- Jones Lang LaSalle just announced that they have been chosen as the leasing agent for the Coastal Commerce Center, a 590,000-square-foot warehouse at 6550 E. 30th St. in Indianapolis. A tenant with 430,000-square-feet will vacate the building later this year but JLL officials say the space will probably get divided into smaller parcels.

The warehouse, which has 18-foot clear ceiling heights, was originally built in the 1970s, says Jake Sturman, a senior vice president with JLL, but was re-developed in 2002. It sits within the city's eastern submarket, where a lot of former manufacturing facilities were converted into warehouses

Sturman and JLL's Steve Schwegman, also a senior vice president, will handle marketing and leasing for the owner Coastal Partners LLC.

“There is a need for this type of space because it will come at a much lower cost than new construction,” Sturman adds. The southern parts of Indianapolis have seen a burst of new industrial construction recently, much of it top-of-the-line big-box facilities that remain out of the price range of many smaller companies. “This offers an alternative.”
