COPPELL, TX—National retailer Alco Stores Inc. plans to move its headquarters here from Kansas in June. It will bring about 40 corporate employees, according to a report in the Dallas Business Journal.

Alco Stores is a broad-line retailer that sells everything from electronics to furniture. It's 217 stores are mostly is primarily located in small, underserved communites.

The Coppell location will also help the retailer attract and retain executives, a company spokesman said. This is Alco's first move since it was founded in 1901.
