MIAMI—As the competition for office tenants heats up in Miami's urban core, Miami Tower is looking to turn heads with what ownership calls an “in the sky” renovation. After inking 100,000-plus square feet of leases in 2012, Miami Tower is looking to keep the momentum rolling with the Sky Lobby upgrade. The Sky Lobby is an indoor and outdoor configuration totaling nearly 35,000 square feet of space.

“The design of the Sky Lobby modernization enables the space to be an accessory to the I.M. Pei design, where the features add character to the building, rather than to compete,” says Eric Groffman, senior vice president with Transwestern, the exclusive leasing agent for Miami Tower. "Less than two years after purchasing the asset, the ownership reinvested into the property, anticipating a strong reaction from existing and prospective tenants alike.”

Key elements of the phase one modernization include an art sculpture that works to attract the eye to a main wall. The wall mounted art sculpture was designed by Miami designer Peggy Nye & Lodin and includes resin panels that run 24 feet by 10 feet by about five feet, with silver waving ridges and brushed stainless steel standoffs.
