IRVINE, CA-Locally based RealtyTrac, an online marketplace for foreclosure properties and real estate data, has hired Jake Adger as chief economist. Adger will spearhead a new department that will be tasked with conducting original economic housing research and developing new products and services that leverage the company's real estate database.

Adger has held senior management positions in a diverse group of companies including SuccessFactors, Deloitte Consulting and Ski West. He was most recently a director at SuccessFactors, a leader in cloud business execution software, and brings 11 years of analytics and product-management experience to RealtyTrac.

Adger will work with RealtyTrac's database and public-relations team to create new real estate reports and studies available to the public. He will also interface with other business units at the firm, from member services and sales to data licensing and report sales, providing those business units with analysis and research to help them develop new products and services for RealtyTrac customers.

According to RealtyTrac's CEO Jamie Moyle, “We are building our analytics team and bringing innovation, transparency and excellence to the real estate industry, and we are delighted that Jake has joined the RealtyTrac team. He brings research and analytics experience that will help us to track important housing-market trends, empowering real estate consumers and investors with the information they need to make good decisions.”

Adger added in a prepared statement, “This is a unique opportunity to use RealtyTrac's comprehensive housing-market data to create new ways to analyze the residential-housing market. It is an exciting time to be conducting original real estate research considering how important housing is to the overall US economy.”

As GlobeSt.com reported earlier this week, according to RealtyTrac, US properties foreclosed in the first quarter took an average of 477 days to complete the foreclosure process, up from 414 days in the previous quarter and up from 370 days in the first quarter of 2012.
