MONROE, NJ-Williams-Sonoma, which is already a 1.4-million-square-foot fixture at IDI's industrial park off NJ Turnpike Exit 8A here, will fully occupy a new 750,000-square foot warehouse/distribution facility under construction.

Atlanta-based IDI announced the deal for its Middlesex Center II building with the home-products retailer.

Williams-Sonoma will use the new space for warehousing, repair, assembly, storage and distribution of its products. The company is also the sole tenant at Middlesex I.

Construction of the new building at the 206-acre site began in December 2012 and is expected to be complete in July.

Paul Torosian of Cushman & Wakefield was the listing agent and IDI was represented by Frank Petkunas or the transaction.

Petkunas, who is IDI's regional managing director based in Philadelphia, said the project marks “the resurgence of inventory building development in New Jersey.”

He noted Exit 8A's strategic location close to the ports of New Jersey and New York, and at the center of one of the most populous areas of the country.

“We are confident we are providing a Class A facility that offers excellent logistics solutions for Williams-Sonoma,” Petkunas said in a release.

IDI plans to start construction of a 450,000-square-foot Middlesex Center III building later this year.

The company has nearly 7 million square feet under development in nine states and has been the first to market new space in several cities as the industry moves out of the recession.
