Likely the most dynamic of social networks and certainly the easiest to use, Twitter is actually a powerful tool in social media. Here at Globest.com, we use it to interact with other companies, share our articles and give updates from live events. In fact, since the revitalization, you may have noticed the new Twitter boxes on the site and seen the updates throughout the day.

We're letting some of our editors (Natalie Dolce signs her tweets ND, John Salustri tags his JS) weigh in and offer up their perspectives. Additionally, I maintain the account and post our articles, share insights from other industry players, and interact with followers, many of whom have some great things to share.

Twitter isn't just a way to while away the time. It's actually really useful for:

  • Following News – many major outlets like Globest post their articles daily. It's quick and easy to follow the organizations, click on the links posted and arrive right at the articles
  • Networking – both personally and professionally I've contected with some great individuals. Remember the interview with Barbi Reuter? And Linda McDonough? I contacted both women on Twitter because they are active, show their commercial real estate expertise and put a human face on their companies.
  • Learning About Events You Can't Attend –business travel is definitely up, but many companies are still watching their spending. If you find the right event hashtag, chances are that a lot of individuals are tweeting from the event. Our editors tweet with @GlobestLIVE when out and about – and there's a hashtag connected to event. This way, you get up-to-the-minute insights into a solid event of your choice.
