FARMINGTON HILLS, MI- Since this story's publication, the Friedman firm has told GlobeSt.com that they "have projects in the pipe this month that will bring in at least a dozen new employees. We are interviewing several candidates for Brokerage in Arizona and are also in the process of interviewing another 8-10 to bring on this month for summer & rotating intership programs.

The original story appears below:

The real estate market in gateway cities and areas like New York, San Francisco and Florida came back in a big way in the past few years, but more recently, health also began returning to the nation's other areas. Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions has responded to that by hiring over 100 new employees in the first quarter, says David Friedman, the Michigan-based firm's president and CEO. “The Midwest was hit pretty hard initially, but it's turning around dramatically; much better than people expected.”

About 20% of the new employees will work in Midwestern states like Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, while others will staff up Friedman offices in Arizona, Nevada, Kentucky and other states. The company provides brokers, asset and property management, investment advice and other services. They also manage more than 7,000 multifamily units and expect a growing demand for these projects.

“There's been very limited new construction for a long period of time,” Friedman says. “There's a pent-up demand for new units.” He's counting on that demand continuing even as the single-family market revives and some renters begin to contemplate owning a home. “I think multifamily will be OK for awhile.”

“We are beefing up our multifamily division,” Friedman adds, although the new employees work in all sectors that the company handles. “We do a lot of advisory work for a lot of institutions. There's a lot of capital and equity out there trying to buy space.”

The company now has about 300 employees. “I don't think we'll be hiring many more people,” he says, at least for this year.
