NEWARK, NJ-Mayor Cory Booker pronounced the new glass tower at the corner of McCarter Highway and Raymond Boulevard that will serve as Panasonic's new headquarters "an extraordinary accomplishment" during a hard-hat tour Wednesday.
The twelve-story, 340,000-square-foot building, is a joint venture of Matrix Development Group and SJP Properties.
The LEED Gold-certified building is covered with a glass curtain-wall and features state-of-the-art building systems.
Skanska is providing construction management services for the core & shell construction, as well as the fit-out of the first floor lobby and bathrooms on each floor. The building is being constructed over an existing two-floor parking garage.
There is a landscaped arrival plaza at the lobby level. The building is close to Penn Station, with a new address of 2 Riverfront Center.
