SAN FRANCISCO-Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed P.J. Cosgrove to lead the firm's construction group in Northern California and has promoted him to managing director. In this new role, Cosgrove will lead the 11-person Northern California team which provides construction management, general contracting and design/build services for interior build outs and similar scale projects on behalf of landlords and tenants across the West Coast.

Elizabeth Hearle, northwest market director, points out that more companies are seeking “seasoned insight and advice when it comes to creating work environments that meet their corporate aspirations as well as structural and seismic safety goals.” She adds that “P.J. has more than 25 years experience in construction and his team is a critical resource for our Northern California clients.”

The Northern California team has recently completed projects for clients that include HSBC, Merck, and Electronic Arts. Specifically, the team recently conducted complex emergency structural repairs for an office building in Walnut Creek and helped a corporate client meet a tight deadline for the sale of a corporate facility by designing and installing a paper dust mitigation system in a credit card processing center in Salinas, CA, in less than 30 days.

Prior to joining JLL in November 2011, Cosgrove co-founded Barnegat Group, a Bay Area-based general contracting and development company that specialized in corporate tenant improvements, hospitality/restaurant renovations and seismic upgrades. Prior to that, Cosgrove led the national marketing and business development team for MBH Architects.

During his career, Cosgrove has managed construction projects from New York to California for Swinerton Builders, Bovis Lend Lease and Sordoni/ Skanska.

Jones Lang LaSalle has specialist construction capabilities in five markets around the country including Northern California. The construction group was founded 40 years ago.
